Mechanical Assembly Technician Assist in fabrication, assembly of custom Switchgear structures of varying size and scope to meet client and product specs and prepare the same for shipment.
Use hand and small power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, torque wrenches as required.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
Infrequent travel may be required for install/ service.
Description of Primary Duties:
Assemble control panel and switchgear components of varied size with minimal direction.
Modify and retrofit existing structures to meet customer specifications.
Assemble metalwork and handle sheet metal goods.
Follow blueprint diagrams.
Be proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
Fabrication including saw cutting and drilling.
Cut, strip and crimp wires and make cables as needed.
Assemble connectors.
May be required to cross train, supporting other sections of the Company.
Education and
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in mechanical assembly/ mechanical repair or associated field.
Experience in the use of hand tools and hand power tools Experience in panel assembly and wiring Ability to read blue prints.
Follow verbal directions to meet production schedule.
Ability to use ruler, scale, tape measure, calipers Possess basic tools including gear wrenches, impact gun, torque wrenches, metric & standard sockets.
Ability to pass background check.
Valid driver's license (for service related positions).
High dedication to quality of results to avoid rework.
Ability to work under pressure/ time constraints.
Able to work with minimal direction and achieve objectives.
Ability to lift/ carry 40 pounds.
Additional skills for consideration:
A background knowledge of electrical system wiring (DC & AC) 1
3 phase, control systems and PLC experience, electrical manufacturing.
Carpentry skills.
